Junk To Funk: Trashion Edutainment: Contractor & Model
Lindsey Newkirk started Junk to Funk.org to serve as fun and entertaining way to inspire conscious consumption. Junk to Funk started as an high couture fashion event and expanded to provide entertainment, living art installations, camps for kids and many photo opportunities. I had the pleasure of working with Junk to Funk in various capacities over four years. This experience taught me many lessons regarding interaction design, partnerships, and using art as the messenger.
This project reminds me of how amazing it is to collaborate with friends, designers, artists, and makers, all while creating an exceptional experience for the public. Thanks to the advocates such as Mayor Sam Adams and the portland sustainability community support us and the mission of Junk to Funk. Lindsey Newkirk continues to work in strategic communications and behavior change.
