Flora Weaving

I needed a privacy screen and had string and clippers on hand, thus was born the flora weavings. I have since made them at every location I have lived as a tapestry of the beautiful plants. The process of finding plants, asking them to take a piece of them, and adding them to the weaving to fold into a larger land scape is symbolic for me. It helps me elucidate my place and function in nature, while learning more about the plants I live near. I've noticed the birds love them. They are designed for decomposition, naturally and at the end of their life they become a seed blanket or a cover for tender new plants.
